Most businesses have some form of rules for how employees should conduct themselves online. Now, the municipality is joining the digital age.
At tonight’s Chatham-Kent council meeting, an administration report will highlight social media guidelines for members of council.
Most of the guidelines are straightforward; maintain confidentiality and privacy, respect staff and fellow councillors, respect the public and provide good solid information.
It also advises councillors to shut down their councillor sites during election years from when the nomination period begins, to when the new council begins its inaugural meeting—a span that will take up most of 2022.
