Several Arrested After Being Found In Vacant Home

Six people have been arrested after police were called to a break-and-enter in Wallaceburg.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a break-and-enter on King Street at around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, and found multiple people inside a vacant home.

The individuals began exiting the home, and some attempted to flee after seeing police at the scene. Some were arrested at the home, while the others were taken into custody following a pursuit.

As a result, three men and a woman from Chatham-Kent, and one man from Wallaceburg, ranging in age from 28 to 50, have all been charged with unlawfully being in a dwelling. They were later released with February court dates.

A 59-year-old Wallaceburg man was also arrested but was released at the scene with conditions.
