Severe Storms Bypass CK

Powerful thunderstorms rolled across southwestern Ontario Wednesday evening.

Environment Canada issued a tornado watch for Chatham-Kent, although the worst of the system avoided the area with little more than windy conditions and a brief downpour.

Environment Canada issued tornado warnings to the north and east in Elgin County, Sarnia-Lambton, and London-Middlesex, with all watches and warnings lifted by midnight.

Hydro One is dealing with a number of power outages including the Forest, Watford, and Glencoe areas, but other than some fallen trees and downed hydro lines, it’s not believed any serious damage was done.
