A recent concert in support of Chatham-Kent’s animal shelter is a roaring success. 
Held last Friday at the Capitol Theatre, The Lion Sings Tonight featured several local artists.
In all, $10,000 was raised for the Friends of the New Animal Shelter, bringing them closer to their $1.5 million goal.
Officials have said they hope to have shovels in the ground on Park Avenue East in Chatham next spring, with the new facility up and running by this time next year.
