Shelter Fundraising Receives a Boost

The Ridge Landfill Community Trust is making a big donation to the CK Animal Shelter.

Friends of the new Animal Shelter committee co-chair Art Stirling accepts a cheque from Ridge Landfill Community Trust, Julie MacDonald and Waste Connections Canada, Cathy Smith and Wes Belanger.

The trust is donating $100,000 to the cause, bringing the fundraising total to $1.25-million.

That puts the campaign just $250,000 away from its goal.

The animal shelter will be built next to the current facility on Park Avenue East in Chatham, and should be completed and open in 12 months’ time.
