Shoplifting Charges Laid Against Two Women

A Chatham woman is facing charges following a shoplifting incident over a week ago.

On Sunday, September 11th, officers responded to Mark’s Work Warehouse on St Clair Street. Investigators claim a woman had taken several items and left without paying.

Yesterday, police located the suspect on Victoria Avenue in Chatham.

The 40-year-old accused has been charged with theft and possession of stolen property. She’ll face those charges in court October 31st.

Meantime, charges have been laid against a Windsor woman, accused of stealing from the Pain Court Market back in March.

Police were initially called to the store on March 16th. The suspect was identified and a warrant issued for her arrest.

The woman turned herself in at Chatham-Kent Police headquarters Sunday evening.

The 61-year-old is charged with theft under $5000, and was released from custody with conditions and a future court date.
