An alleged shoplifter is facing charges following a theft at a Wallaceburg business.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called shortly before 8 p.m. on Wednesday after a woman attended a store on McNaughton Avenue and left with unpaid merchandise.
Officers identified a suspect who was later located and arrested. It was also learned that the accused was on probation with conditions not to attend the business.
A 28-year-old Wallaceburg woman is now charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and failing to comply with a probation order. She will answer the charges in court in July.
