Shoreline Protections Being Mulled Over

When it comes to alleviating flooding on Erie Shore Drive, Municipal officials wants to make sure they do the right thing, but that could take some time.

Erie Shore Drive resident Susan O’Brien says she understands council’s decision to defer to ensure they have all the bases covered, but says it’s a time sensitive issue.

“Little disappointed,” she says. “October, November the winds are heavy, we get gale force winds, and the water gets heavier from being colder, and it can create a lot more damage.”

The Infrastructure and Engineering Department will present a report to Council next month outlining potential drainage options.

Until then, an Interim Control Bylaw has been put in place, to prevent new properties being built in the area.
