A quiet ride will be speaking volumes about road safety in Ridgetown tonight.

Organizer Lynn Van Maanen says the annual Ride of Silence aims to encourage motorists to be more aware of cyclists sharing the road, and remembering those who have been injured or killed in collisions.

“It’s a good idea to help people riding on the road to be aware of other vehicles and people in those vehicles be aware of cyclists as well,” says Van Maanen. “So it’s a whole raising awareness of cyclists on the road and just to be careful and respectful of all vehicles on the road.”

Cyclists are invited to meet at the Ridgetown Campus agronomy building at 6:30, and the 10 km ride begins at 7 o’clock.
