
Six people are facing drug trafficking charges following a bust in Chatham.
Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Emergency Response Team executed a warrant at a Sarah Crescent home shortly after 6 Thursday evening.
Authorities say $53,640 worth of controlled substances was found at the scene, including methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl. Officers also seized a loaded Glock 26 Gen 5 9mm handgun, a debt list, packaging scales, cash, and counterfeit currency.
Six people have been arrested: four men from Chatham, a Chatham woman, and a man from Brampton, ranging in age from 20 to 36.
The accused are facing a slew of charges, including:
- Possession for the Purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl S. 5(2) CDSA
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine S. 5(2) CDSA
- Possession for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine S. 5(2) CDSA
- Possession of a firearm knowing its Possession is Unauthorized S. 92(1) CC
- Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition S. 95 CC
- Careless Storage of a Firearm S. 86 CC
- Possession of Counterfeit Currency S. 450 CC
- Possession of Hydromorphone S. 4(1) CDSA
- Possession Contrary to Order S. 117.01 CC (28-year-old male only)
- Fail to Comply with Release Order S. 145(5) CC– Not to possess any weapons defined by the criminal code (36-year-old male only)
- Possession Contrary to Order S. 117.01 CC (27-year-old male only)
- Possession Contrary to Order S. 117.01 CC (34-year-old female only)
All six suspects were held in custody pending bail hearings.
