Skipping Court Leads To Multiple Arrests

Police have arrested a man for the third time in a row after he repeatedly failed to appear in court.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said the 37-year-old was first arrested on April 4 after he allegedly caused damage to a residence on Pine Street in Chatham. He was charged with mischief under $5,000 and released with conditions and a court date.

However, when the accused failed to attend court on multiple occasions and did not comply with his probation order, a warrant was issued. He was arrested again on October 21.

More recently, he allegedly missed his latest court date on November 24, and another warrant was issued.

On Tuesday at around 1:30 p.m., officers were called to a family dispute on Madonna Crescent in Chatham, where the Chatham-Kent man was located and arrested once again. He has been held in custody for a bail hearing.
