A local woman has been charged following an argument that turned violent in Wallaceburg.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a disturbance at an apartment on Wallace Street at around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police arrived to find a man and a woman who had been involved in an argument that stemmed from a disagreement regarding their child. Authorities alleged that the argument escalated, and the woman slapped the man.
A 36-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and is now charged with one count of assault. She will answer to a judge in court next month.
