With flurries in the air, local drivers are being urged to keep an eye out for snow on the roads.
Emergency crews responded to eight collisions on roads across Chatham-Kent on Thursday, although no serious injuries have been reported.
Officials with Chatham-Kent Police are reminding motorists to slow down in slick conditions, avoid using cruise control, and keep a safe distance from the vehicles around you.
Drivers are also urged to get regular maintenance to make sure their vehicle is winter-ready, and keep the gas tank at least half full to help reduce moisture in the fuel system and add weight to the vehicle.
Police suggest everyone have a survival kit in their vehicle, with a charged phone or backup battery, water and non-perishable food, blankets, jumper cables, and a flashlight, just to be on the safe side.
