Smile Cookies Are Back

Charities in Chatham-Kent will be getting a boost beginning next week with the return of the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign.

The annual campaign begins on Monday and runs through May 5, with 100 per cent of the proceeds from every Smile Cookie being donated to charities and community groups across Canada.

Locally, the money from Smile Cookies purchased in Chatham, Wallaceburg, and Dresden will support the Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent

Tim Hortons in Blenheim, Bothwell, Thamesville, Ridgetown, and Mill Street in Tilbury are supporting the Chatham-Kent Student Nutrition Program, and proceeds from Smile Cookies purchased at the 401 On Route service centres near Tilbury will benefit Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Chatham-Kent.

The Smile Cookie program began in 1996 to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital in Ontario.

Last year, the campaign raised a record-breaking $19.7 million, supporting over 600 charities and community groups across Canada and the United States.
