A London man is facing charges after crashing his vehicle into a snowbank in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to Colborne Street shortly after 2 a.m. on Saturday after a driver lost control of his vehicle and became stuck in a snowbank.
When police arrived, they noticed an odour of alcohol coming from the driver, who was also showing signs of impairment.
As a result, the driver was taken to police headquarters for further tests, which were refused.
A 25-year-old London man is now charged with impaired driving and refusing to comply with a demand. He was also issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
Due to health concerns, the man was also taken to the hospital for medical assistance but was later released.
