When it comes to building a new Catholic elementary school in Chatham’s south end, it’s all about location.
That’s according to Director of Education at the St. Clair Catholic District School Board, Deb Crawford, who says finding a location has delayed the project longer than they expected.
“I guess it’s just the plan for the south side of Chatham,” Crawford explains. “There’s not a lot of vacant properties that are available that would be accessible to the families that are in the schools that we’re trying to amalgamate, and we really wanted to make the school as central as possible.”
Crawford says the south school is still on their radar, as construction on the north school moves forward later this month.
