A man wanted on an outstanding warrant in Toronto has been arrested after police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.
The Ontario Provincial Police said officers stopped a vehicle for speeding in the westbound lanes of the highway near Kenesserie Road at around 11:16 a.m. on Sunday.
Investigators quickly learned the driver had a warrant out for his arrest and he was taken into custody without incident.
As a result, a 40-year-old North York man is charged with speeding and driving without insurance. He has since been released from custody with a future court date in the GTA.
