Dresden is the next community with its eyes set on a splash pad.
Fundraising committee member Meg Robinson says they raised $3,700 at their kick-off event last weekend, but they have a long way to go.
“Our goal is 300,000, which seems like a lot but unfortunately splash pads are not cheap , we also want to add playground equipment and benches overall feel a great one for families to come to and come back and be entertained for hours,” says Robinson. “Our goal is by next summer, it may take longer depending on how much support we have. Dresden is a fantastic community that will rally behind each other and make this goal a reality a little quicker than most might think.
Robinson says the Splash Pad will be located Kinsmen Park on land donated by the Dresden Kinsmen Club. She says is all goes well, they hope to have all the money raised by next summer.
