Chatham’s Bridget Carleton and Team Canada had a great week at the FIBA AmeriCup, but ultimately dropped the finals to the US by a 67-46 final. Carleton and Canada went undefeated in pool play and beat Brazil to advance to the final.

Former Dresden Jr Kings netminder Brett Brochu is having a great start to his OHL career. The 17-year-old Tilbury native picked up his first win in the ‘O’ in his very first start on Friday night, a 6-2 win over Fort Erie. Brochu also tallied his first OHL assist in that game. The very next night, Brett picked up his second win, with 30 saves in a 7-3 final over Hamilton.

Chatham’s Jessie McPherson has also had an incredible start between the pipes in the Provincial Women’s Hockey League, posting back-to-back shutouts for the Cambridge Rivulettes. McPherson is committed to the University of Vermont and represented Canada’s National U-18 women’s team this summer.
