The potential for a new arena facility in Chatham-Kent is set to be discussed at a weekend conference in Ottawa. Mayor Canniff and local councillors will be meeting with provincial ministers at the Association of Municipalities conference. The conference allows for discussions related to possible future funding, including a potential new arena in Chatham.

Ice time at current arenas is about to be a little cheaper. C-K council approved a two-year test project that includes a 15% reduction for prime ice time and a 10% reduction for non-prime ice. Another recommendation is to set the cost for un-booked ice to one hundred dollars.

Blenheim’s Owen Dorssers took home the Jamieson Junior Golf Championship in Kingsville. The Willow Ridge Golf & Country Club home member shot an even par 72 to take the title on the final leg of the tour. Ryen Stevens of Maple City was second overall in the Junior boys division.
