LISTEN IN FOR BOTHWELL’S JAY ALLAN ALL THIS WEEK AT 3:40 ON THE SPOTLIGHT AND SEE HIM PERFORM LIVE WITH SARAH SMITH AT WALLACEBURG’S JEANNE GORDON THEATRE ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 26TH!
Jay’s voice & stage presence along with his ability to write great songs has captivated listeners.
Over the years working to financially support his music goals, Jay continued to concentrate on his songwriting, the music industry and preparing for an album release.
“The Wrong Direction” is a collection of 10 classic storytelling songs all penned by this Ontario born tunesmith.
Country Music News Magazine’s Larry Delaney praised Jay Allan’s songwriting and gave the album a rave review saying:”‘Allan has an interesting and catchy vocal style, filled with grit and passion, and is particularly effective on these blue collar driven songs, all of which he has composed himself.” Delaney continues, saying “The album’s lead single Rumourville, is a driving rootsy country effort that deserved more attention than what it received from radio. The follow up release, She’s A Tease has a similar feel, with lots of vocal energy. Hopefully it will fair a little better, now that Jay Allan has served up a full album to showcase his talents.”
As a performer Jay Allan has continues to play many venues and festivals showcasing his talents and has shared the stage with some of Canada’s biggest acts, including close friend and mentor, the great and late Terry Sumsion, as well as Johnny Reid, Terri Clark, Doc Walker, George Canyon, Dean Brody, One More Girl and many more.
Today, Jay is a dedicated and driven songwriter with an original sound, an accomplice to many local aspiring songwriters and musicians and a dedicated member of the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA), SOCAN and the Songwriter’s Association of Canada (S.A.C.)
