CHECK OUT WALLACEBURG’S MIDLIFE CRISIS ALL THIS WEEK ON THE #SPOTLIGHT – HEARD DAILY AT 9:30 DURING XS MORNINGS WITH JAY & ROBYN! THE NEW ALBUM “UNDER COVER” IS AVAILABLE NOW!
Midlife Crisis is a husband and wife music duo consisting of Kris and Leslie Young, both born and raised in Chatham-Kent. They each performed in different musical groups throughout the years before they met one another and eventually married in 2017.
Leslie is also the author of the 2013 published book titled “Crohn’s Disease, My Life My
Journey”. Both listening and playing music has and continues to play an important part in
Leslie coping with her illness, and loss of both her parents in 2020.
Kris was exposed to all types of music as a child being raised by parents who owned a DJ
Service in the 70’s and 80’s. He formed a band that focused on original material while living in Vancouver in the late 90’s.
Kris and Leslie share a love for different musical genres including Country, R&B, Pop, and
Rock, which is reflected in the music they create together. They began posting their music videos online during the 2020 Pandemic and continue to do so. They are very thankful for the encouragement and support of their videos from Facebook friends and family. Kris and Leslie became so involved (or obsessed) in making music that in 2021 they realized it was probably their version of a real Midlife Crisis! (Doesn’t everyone have their own version of a Midlife Crisis?? LOL!!) Not wanting to take themselves too seriously, their stage in life then became the name of their Musical Duo!
The Midlife Crisis YouTube Channel has also grown in that time with over 450,000 views (to the surprise of Kris & Leslie). They released their first Studio Album “Farmhouse Sessions” on all major music streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) in 2021. They released their second Album “Under Cover” in March 2023 on music streaming platforms as well. Both albums were self recorded and produced.
Kris and Leslie believe there is always more to learn when it comes to playing, singing, and producing their own music. They enjoy the learning process together and the therapeutic benefits that creating music provides. They encourage other people to do the same if they have the desire to do so.
