The St. Clair Catholic District School Board has given its seal of approval to the 2021-22 budget for the upcoming school year.
The English Catholic board says the more than $122-million document focuses on the health and safety of all students and staff, and works toward learning recovery and renewal for all students.
Some of the board’s priorities include a three-year mental health and addictions strategy and action plan for mental health, a focus on re-engagement and awareness on equity, an Indigenous education action plan, and supports for English language learners. At-risk students who are working towards graduation will also see additional support.
$2.4-million has been earmarked for COVID-19 and pandemic-related issues.
The approved budget will now be forwarded to the Ministry of Education.
