Ice continues to cause issues along the St Clair River.
The St Clair Region Conservation Authority says because of increasing ice development on Lake St Clair, ice-breaking efforts on the river have been stopped because there’s nowhere for the ice to go.
Officials say the ice jam combined with shifting winds over the next few days could cause more erosion or flooding along the riverbank.
Residents are reminded to avoid shorelines, waterways, and flooded areas for the time being.
