Stay Positive, My Friends

The 12 Days of Positivity are coming back for another year.

Captain Positive and Opti-Woman were at the Sons of Kent for the official launch of the campaign last night.

Co-chair Darrin Canniff says the event, now into its third year, is powered by a team of community-minded individuals.

“We have about 12-14 committee members, we have the most positive people I know on this committee, sharing, going, and working their butts off,” Canniff says. “We want to change the culture, but we want people looking at Chatham-Kent and saying ‘wow, what are they doing to be positive there?’ We want to be known as the most positive place in Canada.”

TekSavvy is sponsoring this year’s festivities, a decision spokesman Marvin Handsor says was a no-brainer.

“Teksavvy is a very positive place to work, we wanted to share that with the rest of the community so what better way to get behind the 12 Days of Positivity,” Handsor explains. “We have a really different, vibrant atmosphere, and we love to take the opportunity to share that with the community.”

Everything kicks off September 2nd, with a number of events, including free community meals hosted by CKXS in Wallaceburg, Dresden, Blenheim, and Ridgetown.

The festivities wrap up with the official Positivity Day on September 13th.
