Still Room for PSW and Nursing Students at St Clair College

The acute PSW shortage that came to the forefront during the pandemic showed one area for students looking to get an education and a job.

Municipal workers reassigned during this time are returning to their old jobs making it even more important.

Michael Silvaggi, registrar at St. Clair College Thames Campus says they have openings in both the PSW and practical nursing courses.

“We are constantly looking at how students are going to be able to fulfill their placements,” Silvaggi says. “We have some students in those programs that are not necessary comfortable going out on the pose placements as yet, they just haven’t reached that level of comfort.”

He says there has been a lot of interest and they are doing their best to get back to potential students to answer their questions and get them into the classroom as soon as possible.
