A Chatham-Kent man is facing multiple fraud charges in connection with stolen cheques.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to investigate suspicious activity at a parking lot on Richmond Street in Chatham on Monday at around 7:30 p.m.
Officers located a man at the scene who was wanted on an outstanding warrant related to an August 2023 fraud investigation where money was removed from a bank account using stolen cheques.
As a result, the 41-year-old accused was arrested and is now charged with possession of stolen property, uttering forged documents, identity fraud, and fraud under $5,000. He was later released with a court date later this month.
