Charges have been laid after the driver of a pick-up truck lead police on a chase in the Thamesville area.

Police tried to pull over the vehicle shortly after midnight but say the driver tried to avoid the officer and ended up crashing into a small ditch on Selton Line.

The 29-year-old Ridgetown man was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he was charged with possession of stolen property over $5000, dangerous driving, and flight from police.

The accused also had warrants for failing to comply with previous release orders and breach of a conditional sentence order. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
