Stolen Vehicle Runs Out Of Gas In Chatham-Kent

Three men from the GTA are facing charges after the vehicle they allegedly stole ran out of gas near Chatham.

The Ontario Provincial Police said officers patrolling on Highway 401 on January 20 at around 9:50 a.m., stopped to provide assistance to a disabled vehicle in the westbound lanes, just west of Bloomfield Road in Chatham.

The driver said the vehicle had run out of gas, however, following an investigation, the officers learned the vehicle had been stolen in the Toronto area.

Harminder Signh, 45, from Caledon, Harmanpreet Signh, 23, from Brampton, and Preet Dhillon, 32, from Brampton were arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Harminder Signh is also charged with possession of heroin and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. Dhillon is additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine.
