The Chatham Goodfellows are shifting into high gear as the No Child Without a Christmas campaign enters the home stretch.
Local residents donated over $31,475 on Friday and Saturday during the Street Sales portion of the annual fundraiser. That’s about $1500 more than last year.
The Porchlight campaign, held earlier this month, brought in roughly $57,000.
Last year, the Goodfellows organization spent well over $228,000 to purchase items to fill toy and food hampers for the season.
Tomorrow night, volunteers will be hitting the bricks, handing out toy baskets, and Wednesday will be packaging and delivery of food hampers to families in need.
