Student Body Continues To Shrink

Enrollment continues to fall at the Lambton-Kent District School Board.

In its annual report on pupil accommodation, presented to the board tonight, it’s revealed there are a hair less than 22,000 kids in schools, and more than 8,500 empty spots.

That number is expected to fall by another 700 kids in the next decade.

Ten years ago, there were more than 25,000 students across the board.

The loss of students means a loss of funding of about $4-million from just two years ago.
