Three local students have been honoured for their work as part of the Here I Am exhibition at the Thames Art Gallery in Chatham.
An opening reception was held earlier this month with awards presented to outstanding young artists in recognition of their artistic achievement.
Elise Donais, a grade 12 student at Chatham-Kent Secondary School, received three awards, including a People’s Choice Award, an Award of Excellence, and the Graduating Scholarship for a student pursuing post-secondary studies in the arts. Donais will be continuing her studies in Toronto in an interior design program.
Grade 12 student Vanessa Pisquem from UCC, received an Award of Excellence and a People’s Choice Award.
Isabella Plourde, in Grade 12 at CKSS, received a People’s Choice Award.
The three People’s Choice Awards are sponsored by Salus Mutual, the Awards of Excellence are sponsored by The Andersons, and the Graduating Scholarship is sponsored by Cathy Van Raay‑Myers.
Here I Am will be on display at the Thames Art Gallery until July 5.
