Stunt Driving Charge Laid On Hwy. 401

A Belle River resident won’t be getting behind the wheel of a vehicle anytime soon after being pulled over on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Friday at around 7:40 p.m., an officer on patrol clocked a vehicle travelling 55 km/h over the posted speed limit in the westbound lanes.

The officer stopped the driver near Victoria Road and their vehicle was impounded.

A 37-year-old from Belle River is now charged with stunt driving. They were also issued a 30-day driver’s licence suspension and their vehicle will remain impounded for 14 days.
