Chatham-Kent Housing Services is looking to add about 16 new privately owned affordable housing units to the current roster of 115.
That plan would help offset the growing wait list in the municipality, and also provide landlords with some pre-screened applicants.
The program has the renter handle the geared to income portion while the municipality bridges the gap to market value.
Prospective private landlords who are interested in participating in the rent supplement program are encouraged to contact Kristen Williams Manager of Tenant Relations, Chatham-Kent Housing Services.
