There is a new number to call if you are in need of emergency housing in Chatham-Kent.
The municipality is trying to streamline the process.
On any given night 60 individuals and families are supported by Emergency Housing Chatham-Kent.
From now on there is a 24 hour hotline where staff can be contacted and will try and resolved the situation as quickly as possible. That number is 519-354-6628.
If you need homeless prevention services for eviction or emergency home repairs you can still call Employment and Social Services at 519-351-1228, or the Salvation Army at 519-354-1430.
Officials say 373 unique individuals have accessed the service since April of last year.
