Surveillance Footage Helps Nab Suspected Shoplifter

A Chatham woman has been charged following a shoplifting complaint at the Real Canadian Superstore.

Officers were called to the St Clair Street grocery store late Wednesday morning and say the stolen items were recovered and police were able to identify the suspect using surveillance footage.

Authorities say the accused was already bound by a probation order which included a condition not to go to the Superstore.

The 35-year-old was located and charged with theft, possessing stolen property, and violating a probation order.

She was released with another date in court.
