Survey Team To Investigate Wheatley Wind Damage

The group responsible for tracking tornadoes in Ontario is investigating storm damage in Wheatley.

The Northern Tornadoes Project (NTP) said an early Sunday morning storm caused isolated wind damage to a large drive shed, which had its roof removed.

Environment Canada recorded wind gusts of up to 48 km/h in Chatham-Kent on Sunday.

As a result, an NTP survey team will be in the area on Monday to investigate.

An assessment of the damage will be released once the investigation is complete.

The Northern Tornadoes Project was founded at Western University in 2017 to better detect tornadoes throughout Canada and improve severe and extreme weather understanding.
