Suspect Arrested Following Downtown Chatham Break-In

A local man is facing charges following a break-and-enter in downtown Chatham.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service received a report of a break-and-enter at a business on King Street West shortly after 10 a.m. on January 21. Authorities said someone had entered the business and stole several tools before fleeing the scene.

After reviewing surveillance footage, officers identified a suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The 43-year-old Chatham-Kent man was located and arrested on Tuesday on Third Street. He is now charged with break-and-enter to commit an indictable offence.

He was later released from custody with conditions and a future court date.
