A man is facing charges in connection to a break-in at a Chatham church.
An alarm went off at St Andrew’s United Church on William Street shortly after 7 o’clock Tuesday morning.
Officers arrived and confirmed the building had been broken into and brought in the K9 unit to investigate. Canine Helix was used to search the building and officers were able to identify a suspect using surveillance footage.
However, likely knowing he would be identified, the accused went to police headquarters of his own volition and turned himself in.
The 41-year-old is charged with break and enter and was released with conditions and a date in court next month.
