A suspended driver is facing charges after allegedly getting behind the wheel of an off-road vehicle in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a traffic complaint on McNaughton Avenue West shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Thursday.
While canvassing the area, officers located an off-road vehicle that was being driven without the proper licence plates. The man behind the wheel had also been suspended from driving more than 10 years ago due to unpaid fines.
A further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been purchased earlier that day without the necessary supporting documents.
As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old Thamesville man is now charged with several traffic offences. He will answer the charges in court next month.
