A Wallaceburg resident is facing several charges following a traffic stop in Petrolia.

The Ontario Provincial Police said officers stopped a vehicle on North Street, west of Oil Heritage Road, shortly before noon on Sunday.

Following an investigation, the driver was arrested.

A 21-year-old from Wallaceburg is now charged with driving while under suspension, not being accompanied by a qualified driver with a G1 licence, driving with a validated permit, driving without a proper rear light, and failing to provide insurance.

The accused will answer the charges in a Sarnia court in October.
