Early morning suspicious activity in Wallaceburg has landed a Chatham man with charges.
Police were contacted shortly after 1:30 Monday morning about a man dressed in dark clothing, carrying a flashlight and walking around a Warwick Drive property.
Authorities say the man have sped off in a vehicle before officers arrived, but was later found on Base Line near Old Glass Road.
Further investigation showed the man was in violation of a court-imposed curfew, was found with a BB gun and stolen identification, and was already under a weapons prohibition.
The 49-year-old was held in custody at police headquarters for a bail hearing. He’s been charged with failing to comply with an undertaking, failing to comply with a recognizance, and possession of stolen property.
