A Chatham man will have to answer to a judge after police officers allegedly found him slumped over the wheel of his vehicle.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a complaint about a suspicious vehicle in Chatham at around 5:25 p.m. on Monday. Upon arrival, police alleged the driver appeared to be in and out of consciousness while lying on the steering wheel.
Officers also allegedly found various drug paraphernalia on the man. He was then arrested and taken for further tests.
As a result, the 43-year-old accused is charged with driving while impaired by drug. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.
