An annual initiative in Wallaceburg is rewarding local residents for their commitment to bicycle safety.
For the last several years, the Chatham-Kent Police Service has partnered with the Wallaceburg Bike Rodeo, The Sugar Shack Wallaceburg and McDonald’s to hand out ice cream coupons.
Officers on patrol will stop and provide the coupons to anyone seen wearing a helmet and practicing bicycle safety.
The initiative takes place throughout the summer in July and August.
