A cyberattack is causing technical issues at a number of hospitals in southwestern Ontario.
On Monday, officials with the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance provided an update on the systems outage, saying issues with a shared service provider is impacting care at Bluewater Health, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Erie Shores HealthCare, Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, and Windsor Regional Hospital.
Hospital officials announced early Monday afternoon a regional outage of the system was forcing staff to delay or postpone patient appointments.
Anyone not needing emergency care is asked to go to a primary care provider or local clinic to limit the impact on the hospitals as they work to address the issue.
Officials are investigating the cause and scope of incident, including whether any patient information was affected.
