Tablets used in pilot project at CKHA

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is connecting patients with their doctors using tablets. It’s a pilot project in partnership with the Ontario TeleHealth Network which will see 8 tablets used for different purposes in different departments. The focus will be monitoring those patients who don’t have a family doctor and have undergone surgery at the hospital. The tablets will be used as a virtual check-in system 24 or 72 hours following surgery. The technology will also be used to connect patients with family members who are unable to travel or who live outside Chatham-Kent.
