Tampon Tuesday Fast Approaching

Support is growing for Tampon Tuesday.

United Way Spokesman Brian Armitage says feminine hygiene products are desperately needed by all agencies that support local women.

“It’s servicing one of those needs that food banks just don’t get for people in need,” Armitage says. “It’s become a very important issue, when you have women choosing between food on the table and a hygiene product, it’s not right.”

Over 750 products were donated the first year, with over 1300 collected last year.

The products and money raised will be shared between 13 local agencies, including area food banks, the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre, and other groups that provide services for women in need.

Donations can be dropped off at the CKXS studio on James Street in Wallaceburg or brought to the Tampon Tuesday next Tuesday at Ten Seven Café in Chatham.
