A teen is facing charges after an argument with another youth and a family member led to violence.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a north-end Chatham address at around 7 p.m. on Wednesday regarding an assault.
After arriving at the scene, authorities learned that a teenage boy and a girl were arguing when he slapped her in the face. The boy then assaulted his mother when confronted about the initial incident.
As a result, a 16-year-old youth was arrested and is now charged with two counts of assault. He was later released from custody with a July court date.
