Teen Charged With Drunk Driving

A Chatham teenager is in trouble with the law after allegedly driving with almost three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers received a complaint about a vehicle driving on Bloomfield Road in Chatham on Sunday evening.

Officers located the vehicle and arrested the driver, a 17-year-old male youth, who was then taken to police headquarters for breath tests. Police alleged the teen blew nearly three times the legal limit.

The youth is now charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg. He has been released from custody with a future court date.
