A Chatham teen is facing a grocery list of charges after a weekend joyride.
Police allege the 17-year old broke into a home on Tweedsmuir Avenue in Chatham Friday night, getting away with some medication, a cellphone, and car keys, fleeing in the homeowner’s vehicle.
Authorities say the teen picked up a friend, struck another vehicle at a business on St Clair Street, and took off.
Following a complaint from a concerned citizen on Charing Cross Road, officers were able to track the pair down, and the vehicle was eventually stopped in Erieau.
The suspect now faces charges of possession of stolen property, theft of a motor vehicle, failing to remain at the scene of a collision, possession of a concealed weapon, and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
The other teen, a 19-year old, is also facing theft and drug-related charges.
